Bodyscapes
Bodyscapes is the series at the heart of this work: the human form photographed until it reads as landscape. A shoulder becomes a horizon, a curve becomes a dune, and light moves across skin the way it moves across sand.
The boundary between what I show and what I keep.
The light gently kissing the skin, teasing your perception.
Absolutely amazing depth of field.
Where light hesitates before descending.
The fold where heat collects.
A fold that has forgotten it was ever open.
A crease that deepens when I am not watching.
A hollow that fills with whatever you bring to it.
Where light collects like water in a cupped hand.
The quiet authority of a curve that asks nothing.
Skin and rain sharing the same falling light, a body held quiet behind the glass.
The back rising like a slow dune, skin caught in low light.
